WAVE SDK Updated With Exciting New Features

We are pleased to announce that the new update of Wave SDK 3.1.4 has been released this week. This update contains a number of exciting new features that will help you promote and develop your content: Single Lens Screen Recording enables the capture and storage of gameplay for users to share online; Light-Weight VR Glasses Support will make sure your content will work on new HMDs coming to the market in the near future; and we have new tools to make sure your content is able to run longer and is able to support all controllers without needing to rebuild for each one. You can read more details in the descriptions below:

  • Single Lens Screen Recording:
Capture gameplay and keep it in local storage.
User can share interesting gameplay experiences with friends.
  • Support Light-Weight VR Glasses:
A new type of light-weight VR glasses will start to enter the market and existing content need to be updated to support these headsets.
The Wave SDK has built-in support for these new devices.
  • Adaptive quality V1.0 – Extend usage time w/ suitable perf. level:
Auto CPU/GPU clock throttling according to system loading.
Suitable for different content types (CPU-bound, GPU-bound, or general).
Balance power consumption and rendering performance.
    Average power saving around 15%.
  • Input key mapping:
Wave runtime gets “input request from app” and “input capability from device”
When a controller key is pressed, Wave runtime converts the input key event from device to fit to the key request to app.
Apps will be compatible with various controller types without re-building.
