How do I use hand tracking on VIVE Focus 3 for PC VR apps?
You can use hand tracking on VIVE Focus 3 with the SteamVR Skeletal Input API or OpenXR hand tracking extension. No additional porting is required.
VIVE Business Streaming leverages VIVE Focus 3 and XR Elite and lets you easily switch between controllers and hands by simply picking up or putting down the controllers.
VIVE Business Streaming also supports the finger pinching gesture to mimic pressing the trigger on the controller. This lets you play VR games, such as The Lab: Xortex, with just your hands.
How do I use hand tracking with VIVE Business Streaming?
There are two open SDKs that VIVE Business Streaming supports to let you use hand tracking on VIVE Focus 3 for PC VR apps. You can use either the SteamVR Skeletal Input or OpenXR hand tracking.

How do I turn on hand tracking on VIVE Focus 3?
Here's how to turn on hand tracking features on VIVE Business Streaming.
- On your computer, open the VIVE Business Streaming settings.
- Click Preferences.
- Under Tracking, you can set the following:

VIVE Business Streaming will emulate a controller for each hand to SteamVR and translate the finger pinch gesture as a trigger event. This lets apps that don't support hand tracking to still work. Switch between using the controllers or hands by simply putting down the controllers (use hands to interact) or picking up the controllers (use controllers to interact). |
Hand tracking is not selected |
VIVE Business Streaming will emulate hand poses (VR hand) based on controller input. Therefore, apps that require hand tracking will still work but won't have natural hand poses. |

With VIVE Focus 3 software ( v. 5.0.999.514 ) and VIVE Business Streaming ( v. 1.08 ), you can use one hand and one controller at the same time for VR apps that support this interaction method. |

VIVE Wrist Tracker will not be tracked by SteamVR and the VIVE Wrist Tracker icon won't show in the SteamVR window. The VIVE Wrist Tracker will be used to enhance hand tracking accuracy. |
