Downloadable Content (DLC)
Downloadable content (DLC) is additional paid or free content such as “new game modes,” “objects” or “levels” created for your existing content. You can follow the steps below to add DLC into your content. Please note that you need to publish your base title to Viveport first and then you can add DLC to the base title.
First, create your DLC submission by adding a new title to the developer console from the “Add title” prompt on your “My titles” tab where you will be taken to the “Create a new submission” page.
Select the radio button “Downloadable content (DLC)” and find the base title for your DLC from the dropdown list. Name your DLC title and you will be taken to a submission draft project. Then, fill out each tab with information about your DLC just like the process you went through when publishing the base title.
To test your DLC, you can refer to this document .
A complete submission of DLC contains the following components:
- Program opt-ins
- Viveport listing
- Distribution & price
- Media
- Binary build
- Submit
In some steps, you will see unexpanded fields. Those values are locked and inherited from the base title settings.
A few reminders to help you go through the submission smoothly:
-
Viveport listing:
- Please fill in the content title and description for all the languages that you had set up for the base title. (To add more languages, please add them in the base title first.)
- Supported languages of the DLC are inherited from the base title. You may remove supported languages from the DLC but you can only add additional languages by adding them in the base title.
- Distribution Regions: You can manually select the countries that you want to distribute your DLC. Availability is inherited from the base title. (Country distribution of DLC should not be more than the base title.) Or just simply select the checkbox to synchronize the country distribution with the base title.
- Binary build: Please upload a dummy text file larger than 1KB in your zip file if you don’t have extra program files needed in addition to the main content.
