I encountered this error: "Start Detection Error: Camera". What should I do?
The
Hand Tracking SDK can base on camera frames to detect the presence of hands. Make sure you have properly set up your headset camera(s).
- On Windows, make sure you have set up the headset camera in SteamVR by following the Hand Tracking SDK Guide.
- On Android phones and VIVE Focus, make sure you have granted camera permission before you start hand detection.

Some phones don't support the
Android NDK Camera2 API, therefore the camera cannot be started. If this happens, try another smartphone or install the latest system update.
You can try the
NDK Camera2 Sample to check if your phone supports this API.
Note: Phones that have been reported not to support the NDK Camera2 API include Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Meizu phones.
